The lads welcome back Matt Watts in his second magnificent appearance on this podcast. And hopefully not his last!
Mark opens the show by asking Matt and Joe what skill sets they are bringing post-apocalypto. It doesn’t look good for the trio, though it’s clear that Matt has a wonderful grasp of his sleep needs and how societal collapse may cause some inconvenience.
After talking about Matt’s shift from acting to writing, and his first book, Hope of the Wasteland, they discuss the 1981 George Miller classic, Mad Max 2, released in North America as The Road Warrior.
It’s always fun to talk to Matt because he’s interested in the same things as both Joe and Mark. Plus, he’s smart and he’s funny. They have an engaging, illuminating, and above all fun conversation about movies and the movies they love.

Matt Watts appeared on Ken Finkleman’s The Newsroom and was the star and a writer on Michael, Tuesdays and Thursdays (Michael: Everyday), on CBC television.
Matt is also a comedian, radio writer, and actor. He created, wrote and starred in the CBC One radio dramas: Steve, The First, its sequel Steve, The Second and Canadia: 2056 and has written for Kids in the Hall.
And he’s the author of the middle grade fiction novel Hope of the Wasteland, published by Donovan Street Press, which you should totally buy!
